One Month Show at Colville Street Patisserie
I hung a new art show at the Colville Street Patisserie in Walla Walla on Sunday. What a beautiful perfect fall day it was, 68 degrees, sunny and beautiful. My freind Alex came and helped me hang my show. We waited until 6:45 to get the key and had dinner next door at a great little mexican restaurant called Grandma’s Kitchen waiting for everyone to leave and we could bring in our boxes of art and hang the show. Grandma had just won the prize for best soup at the Health Fair so we had to try that. They have great handmade authentic Mexican food.
My show will hang for a month time from October 8 – Nov 6, 2017. The show I have hung is a variety of my art, mosaic, collage, some monoprints that then are collaged, Telamedera Fusion, Ink, Watercolor and Encaustic. It is a fun show of my bright whimsical art. I will be back in town to take it down on Nov 6th and hang another show at Brasserie Four for 2 months, Nov 7, 2017 – Jan 7, 2018.
In case you do not know what Telamedera Fusion is read my blog. What is Telamedera Fusion?
This Blog post will tell you my process of how I created these pieces and where to buy items to use to create one.
What is Telamedera Fusion? I saw this technique on Oregon Art Beat one winter night. I was so inspired by the artist Alma de la Melena Cox and her technique that I ordered her book and decided to try it. Alma combined the Spanish words “tela” for fabric and “medera” for wood to express the combinations of vibrantly colored materials that make up this beautiful technique Telamedera Fusion. Collage Fusion is another word she uses for it.
Here are some willing customers who let me take their photo. What a great location and a very busy place. When I dropped of the Key there were lots of students on their computers, and wow look at those wonderful pastries. They were busy in the early morning hours. I myself a treat called a “Trio” which is triple chocolate layers with a layer of chocolate cake on bottom. Yummy! They serve espresso and latte as well as gelato. There are lots of windows so it has great light as well.
These photos were taken at night after we got through hanging. Then some photos were taken the next morning.
If you are in Walla Walla drop in to see my show.
